Description

Although this is not sharp, I really like it because it reminds me of being at the back of the stands at a tennis match or an outdoor concert. You can hear them murmuring to each other if you get close enough! Now known as Coprinellus disseminatus, this small and very fragile inkcap is found in dense swarms on dead wood. The cap is up to 1.2cms across and the stipe can be up to 4cms. It is widespread and common. I have more pics of this to share, as it is one of my favourites!

Stellar photo of the Inkcaps, which remind me of a horde of pedestrians, standing on a street corner in the rain under their umbrellas, waiting for the traffic signal to change so they can cross to the other side.

Excellent capture! Some seem to be sheltering under others, like a family in a crowd.

Great find of this stand of mushrooms! I can see you down on the ground shooting, I'm only surprised there aren't any dog feet in evidence...wonderful POV!

This is wonderful. So many, altogether makes a brilliant picture. We have these and tan coloured mushrooms/toadstools in our lawn - not good really but I shall photograph them before we try and get rid.

Magnificent! This too is said to contain coprin (the substance causing problems with alcohol), but nobody eats this mushroom because of the size.
