Yet another shot. This image reminds me of the Hawaiian He'e or squid. Except here, the ground it covers will never be the same. It's tentacles reach out and the body follows, swallowing the old land. In it's wake it gives us newly formed land. I am really humbled to be in it's presence.

I've always been fascinated by lava...and this is fantastic! New land indeed! I can't remember how to spell the two types, but as a child (at the time I thought that I'd become a vulcanologist--this being somewhere between/after my paleontology/Egyptology/aspirant oboe player phase.) Having said that, I must point out that I love this picture, and I am amazed that I can still remember the TYPE of Lava that this is. Wonderful! I love the colors, the heated orange peeking out of so much black. Wonderful!
