Description
The Faire offered more than Mummers, Jesters and Acrobats. There were also games of skill. Most involved water. If you could but hit ye target you could Dunk a Monk or Soak a Bloke. Women's liberation was then in full flower, so it was necessary to include a young maiden in these games. Since it was felt unseemly to drop a young lady into a vat of water, another amusement was devised. A large crossbow with a wet sponge was pointed at her and, if the sponge hit the young lady in the face the contestant would be rewarded with a kiss. Not to brag but I hit the bulls eye that day...twice.
Hey, women's liberation was in full flower but it was still a work in progress.

Lol, this is a good one! I think she must have been looking at the large crossbow pointed at her, she looks rather unsure that she's having fun now.
