Description
Poland.Kracow. Kracow has a fine historical museum, with lots of items from the times of the Vienna siege. These were uniforms of the polish cavalry, higher officers had lion pelts. The effect of a charge of a hundred knights with flowing wings must have been awesome and fear inspiring. Hope some of our Poser and 3d colleagues find this useful, I'd love to see one of these ready for Poser ...

This is the armor for the Winged Hussars. If I recall right, the knights had the "wings", their squires and other cavalrymen attached to them did not. I also read that the feathers were ravens'. The reason for the "wings" was that at speed, the feathers would make a whirring noise, heard above and beyond the thundering of hooves. It terrified the enemy. Great picture!
Excellent capture, interesting text!!!
Impresionante y espectacular fotografĂa.......!!!!
Magnificent psycological strategy for the times. Not only terrifies the enemy, but also bolsters the ego of the men wearing this. Outstanding shot.
