Description

This was taken on 28/09/2009 at St Ouen's Bay in Jersey in the Channel Islands where I live. The European Surf Championship was being held over the week. As you can see this day the surf was flat, not sure it was brilliant many of the days but in the end the French team won. We get some massive waves here in the west of the Island. Surfing is and has always been a major part of Island life. In the background is Corbiere Lighthouse, Jersey's most photographed place and also La Rocco Martello Tower. This is a wonderful sea image. The light is beautiful and the whole scene seems so serene. An interesting detail is the silhouette of the person with a tripod. It gives the picture an extra dimernsion, imo. Well done!

I love this place. I walked up to the Lighthouse once, when the tide was out -it was magical! Have never viewed it from this angle though! Love the photographer in the foreground!

What a beautiful view. Really looks like a wonderful place to visit. And yes you can sure see the surfers wanting some waves...out there..Lol..:) Excellent shot..:)
