Description
A street tree in Chicago.
I'm so used to the trees that grace our streets here, I don't give them a second thought. We have maple and cherry, maple, maple and maple, maple and cherry. Perhaps the occasional flowering plum, just for variety. Did I mention maple? We have a lot of those, as well as a few maples.
In Chicago they have such a wide variety of trees on the street! My head was on a swivel, trying to look at everything all at once. I have no idea what sort of tree this is, but trust me when I tell you it isn't a maple. I know!

Geez am I late in getting here, and no one has an answer as to what kind of tree? I guessing either elm or hickory, but am willing to bet it's an elm....a better look at the leaves would help. Not too many of these even have leaves on them around here anymore. They are most beautiful, but aren't very resilient to bugs and disease. Dutch elm had gone through the Midwest a few decades ago and wiped tons of these right out!
Beautiful shot. I am particularly fond of the lighting. You have it behind, but off to the side. Makes it so you get a beautiful glowing outline around the branches, but do not wash away the detail and color of the tree itself. Great work. And... ... ... I have absolutely no clue what type of tree that is.
Beautiful tree, excellent capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
