Description
The organic/mechanical Manta Ray-like creatures are on their annual migration to the feeding grounds on the far-side of this planet Andoria.
These rusty crab-like nurseries are left behind with the young ones, awaiting the return of their Andorian parents with the hope of fresh plasma fingers ?

BTW, these Andorians have nothing to do with the Star Trek Universe.
Cheers jif3d :o)
p.s. thanks for taking a peek at my last post 'the way of the Unicorn' and to all those who made it a FAV...EXTRA THANX !

Wild alien scene Jeff! And I loved the unicorn one too BTW. ;]
A fantastic scene and imaginative background story as well! Superb work. Yes, I loved that Unicorn picture too.
I don't know what a plasma finger is, but it sounds delicious! Cool alien scene here.
Ummm, Plasma fingers.....taste like Chicken. Splendid flight of fantasy Jeff, well done Peace
Excellent render Jeff!
Both this image and the last are very well done!
Nice work jif, this looks great!
Cool sci-fi Jeff :)
Once again you created a excellent sci-fi scene, excellent idea and realisation.
Superb Mindscape Jeff...Love the palette!
COOL.
Very nice sci-fi scene. Great models, lighting and sky! Really well done.
Great sci-fi scene, excellent imaginative work!
Topnotch Jeff,Mirelurks with wings
Under the sea...no,no,no...FLYING MANTA RAY's, what a novel idea ! only in Jeff's Fantasy Sci-Fi land and they are superb-looking, the colours are just heavenly . one of my Fav's... Cheers BB
Very well created with wonderful lighting in all the right spots. I hope I don't come in contact with one of these rays, their spike looks rather lethal.
very creative here chummer; always did like the aesthetic shape and lines of the manta ray
There was an episode of Dr. Who featuring the british actress who once helmed the Bionic Woman lead role- it was really cool, and the protagoins was a number of planet eating manta ray metallic cratures. Very similar- a cool theme, but of course your rendering method is what brings it to fruition!
Very cool Jeff. Your very creative my friend
Wonderful work jEFF,love the colors, very beautiful scene.
Nice idea!
Love the concept. Something Ive done myself in the past...but more of a barren desert theme. The accompanying text helps create a more vivid image of what you have presented...but are these kept like bees at a hive for the honey or their own creation & if so...who's the keeper :-) ..."Just oozing those brain juices! :-) Cool creation.
Aww, no blue guys with feelers sticking out of their heads? Super scene here. What neat creatures, and the sky is way cool!
A fun, classic sci-fi scene in the tradition of HG Wells or Jules Verne...
very stunning departure from your norm....pub style plasma fingers... got me hungry now!
Wicked work!!! Very cool!!!
Very creative sci-fi image and story - the Manta's remind me a tad of Pitch Black, very nicely done!!!!
This is a cool SF image!
Xcellent image Jeff!!!! Amazing work!!!
Beautiful job !!!! Definitly could be a cool Sci-Fi cover!!!
