Description
Trapped in a sticky run of resin tens of thousands of years ago, this small fly has been preserved. This fly is bare millimeters in length. (I will be getting access to other amber pieces in the future.) Zoom for a much better look. Thanks for any comments you care to make.

Looks like summer!
Lucky man!
Amber always fascinated me. I remember in science class taking a piece of amber and rubbing it with a piece of silk cloth to generate strong static electricity.

This stuff has always fascinated me. Jurassic Park here I come!
Very good capture.. ;) I am sorry about not commenting sooner. I have been looking in another direction, trying to get some sense out of Poser8 in the forum. Also a short (overnight) stay in hospital..
Very cool.. saw a Documentry a short while ago about this very thing! Thanks for the picture, mate! Rob
Amber is fascinating, a connection with a life and time so distant. Lovely capture! Love to see more!
Such amazing stuff and a fine shot to show us how it works. I understand these insects frozen in time can have quite a bit of value.
It is mysterious that fly's appearance doesn't change for tens of thousands of years. It is a color of very wonderful amber.
