Description
Ok this is what it might look like if the fire was the main source of light in the room. Indeed dramatic shadows and all. How ever when viewing art, you must always consider other sources .
In the original the fire is not the main lighting. there is an open sky light, with a full moon pouring its light into the room. Thus the perfect lighting for the scene was the original. In this image I let part of the moon be seen, so you might better understand.
I personally like the first one best.

This one is also gorgeous love the lighting in this scene....excellent done.
Excellent image!
Great image! I love the composition! Good work, well done!
excellent and well done scene
Looking this over i prefer the first one also. My question, as with the first image is. How did/do you set the lighting to the firepit?. This i think is my weakest area right now and where i need to improve.
Very good POV and pose.
absolutely wonderful!!!
Great rendering work! Xcellent ambiance lighting!
Great Pic and POV
I think I liked the lighting from the other better. You could always throw up a spot light over the fire to simulate it's light.
I like both. I guess I just wanted to see what you could do with Fire lighting effects - before I commented on the other one, I just got through looking at some camping pictures where there is a lot of dark and highlights... I love the room you have and I guess I pictured the frames in the window black because of the moonlight, blackness under the fire, black behind her.... and after looking at the camping pictures, fire makes shadows do some strange things, I guess I was trying to rub off my imagination on you with shadow effects - your pictures look great, but I guess what I was hoping to see would involve a lot of post work and a lot of overlays involved.
Very nice work on the lighting. I like both scenes.
wonderful effects
I like the first best also. This version washes out some of the details of her skin and face.
I like the first better, but this one still has all the merits of the first, outstanding work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
