Description
Scars
I once met a man
With so many scars on his soul
He could never trust anyone
So he was alone
All of his life
I once met a woman
With so many scars on her soul
She spent the last 30 years
Hoping to die
She’s still hoping
I once met a man
With so many scars on his soul
He could never forgive anyone
So he carries hate with him
Where ever he goes
I once met a woman
With so many scars on her soul
No matter how hard she tried
All she could do is cry
She’s still crying
I know a man
With so many scars on his soul
All he can do is write
So I write
I was trying to weed my way through my fav 100 again today ( it is taken me forever, mostly because I am lazy haha ) when I ran across this one and I wanted to repost it because it just means so much to me. Every person in this poem is based on a person that I know and is dear to my heart so I just felt like reposting it. I hope you don’t mind
Oh ya as always if you are messed up in the head like I am and everyone in this poem is, then this poem is for you haha. Vaggabondd

wonderful poem and unfortunately there are way too many people in that condition and some refuse to let the scars be and go on.
the scars tell a story what lessons should be learned but to be bitter is to be lost what I found out anyway wonderful work, my friend warm hugs, Linda
I hope I don't spent the last 30 yrs. wishing to die...yes I'm still crying..and Randy your not missed up...your just Randy.
Some scars never heal. My step mother once asked my father why he was so cold hearted. He answered that everytime he had done something nice for someone he got stepped on. He died a bitter man. My mother once told me that she was not raised to be happy but to survive. She died unhappy. Me, I'm still working on it. Stunning impact.
Wonderful poem hugs lou x
Such a beautiful Poem Randy, love it.
It's new to me. So much catching up to do. As your poem so well illustrates there are so many varieties to being messed up. I doubt I'll ever be very tidy. Though I have learned to navigate the clutter of my being fairly well. Your response, writing, would seem to me a good one, particuarly when you share with others. (I love that bit of you sharing it with others) Excellent poem with a powerful punch.
Very true indeed Randy...I suppose they are called scars for a reason, they mark us forever. Makes the person we are. Another great poem you have written that I can very much relate to. Nice work my friend!
I'm glad you did....keep on fighting and keep on writing.Hope the scars would never take over a beautiful soul like your's.Beautiful poem.
Excellent work...........!!!!!!!
You're not messed up, Randy--you just FEEL things more strongly than a lot of us--and you share your words for all to see--not a bad thing at all!!
No, I think that you're pretty messed up
You wouldn't write your wonderful poems without some scars! This is very powerful Randy.
