Description
Here is a green striped Darner hovering over a pond. Out of fifty photos I got four worth saving. This is an example I kept. To get an in-flight photo first you need a cooperative dragon, second you need to be quick with the focus ring, third you need be fast and easy on the shutter button so as not to blur with you own part of the equation. Be patient and don't mind the deer flies biting you all the while. Hope you like it- GB-

Outstanding shot! I know how difficult this is. Have a great weekend :)
excellent shot.before when I would try, I would prefocus on something close to an area hoping the dragonfly would fly into it.worked sometimes but so time consuming
excellent!!!! this is the best photo i have seen anywhere in a long time.
Very good! Very hard to do! I'm impressed!
Nice, I have tried a few times too. Its not easy. Well done, now how about a couple macros of those deer flies? ;-)
Marvelous action shot, very well done.

Wow! Splendid capture George! These guys are so interesting! Awesome!!!
Photography isn't for the impatient ones. Worth the wait.
What a wonderful hovering machine he makes.
Four out of fifty is a better ratio than I get! I would be happy with one in fifty. My last attempt (for a hour) did not yield a chance to even take one shot.
Excellent work worth the effort
Hell man!!!!! How on earth! I'm REALLY impressed now! beyond words! Rob.

Amazing! I love the detail of his body markings! And caught in flight! Wow!
