Description

Hello! This is #6 of my travel pics and was taken near our campsite one morning in Echo Valley campground near Custer, SD. Another gorgeous morning and the pond was as still as glass. The entire campsite was very wild and untouched. Each morning we could see deer walking around. Sorry about the lens flare but this reflection was too good to pass up. Next stop - Crazy Horse Monument. Thanks for visiting my previous upload: thumb_1935434.jpg

I can barely see the flare. Actually, I have a flair for flares. Superlative bit of pristine nature in this serene capture, Jodie...the pond, the reflections, the grass and trees, the Black hills...what more could one ask for during a peaceful vacation?

Well!!! Lens flare! I'm reporting you to the U.N.! (The G8? The mayor of St. Paul?) It's nothing, and if you had to remove it—like under warrant from a Court of Appeals?—it would be nothing. So glad you posted this. You have a wonderful slope from down and from up, and it converges in the open sky on the left. And the water is beautiful, the reflections are in perfect harmony, and your light & hue are (again) soft & gentle. The blue 'dissolve' around the trees' edges is gentle, and the detail of the trunks—as we look right—is a beautiful element. Another gentle & very heartful capture, and it tells you why this land was so beloved by its initial inhabitants. The flare could be seen as the sun's 'stamp of approval': Kind of like the stamp you get on a passport. A lovely capture all around, so glad you posted it.

It must have great to see and experience the pristine environment, as enlightening as the photo composition.
