Description
I read a lot of info on the net about how to care for pit bulls, including the behaviors associated with teething. I tried boxed dog biscuits, he wasn't interested. I did not want to use a frozen washcloth because he likes pulling on my clothes so I figured the washcloth when it thawed would make that behavior worse. I save our scraps for the maintenance mans dog and had a ham bone frozen in there so I thought, why not kill two birds with one stone! Treat him to his first bone AND give him the frozen treat to soothe his teething...well you see the results...he was crazy for the bone and he tried to run away with it in the bottom image, thus the blur. When he was done chewing (more than an hour!) the bone went back in the freezer for more teething comfort! Last pic of him for awhile, I just thought this was too cute not to share:-)

Whoa, he's getting pretty strong. I have a friend who makes her own doggie treats that are completely healthy for him. I'll get the recipes.
What a great idea for him to chew on a frozen bone for his teeting problems. I used to give my dogs beef marrow bones, they loved them so much and of course the marrow in the bone is good for them too, and the beef, plus they don't splinter. Just am loving all your doggy pics Lynn, he really is adorable. hugs Jane xxx
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR MORE PICS OF TANNER - he is just too adorable, and that bone looks huge next to him! He's a tough little guy, huh? I've always been afraid to give bones to Sunshine and Grover, but I do buy big bags of rawhide treats that seem to help them with their teething issues...but they're over two years old already (can you believe it?!?) and they STILL enjoy chewing their rawhide treats. I also give them ice cubes - one at a time. Sure, you might get a damp spot on the floor here and there, but they were raised on ice cubes (which helps with the teething pain), and they still think ice cubes are special treats (even though they get them daily - I can't open the freezer door without them begging for one). I've discovered quite a few people I know who give their dogs ice cubes and are rewarded with happy grins and wagging tails from their pups for it. Please do continue to post photos of Tanner - we really can't get enough of him!

Very cute! He looks very happy! Thanks for the fav. I've always loved trees too. My first roll of film, on a little box camera, was all trees. The pictures weren't anything to write home about and my family was very unimpressed. I do a bit better now and am still drawn like a moth to a flame.
