Description
Today marks a year since my Beloved Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) Gracie Anne died. We buried her at the Hollow. Her memory is as fresh today as if she just died.
This is a photo that I took in early August of 2006, and I really liked it, but it was too blurred to use for anything. I decided to play with some of the filters in PSP8, and this was the result. It's a repost, it just seemed right to bring it to the front of the gallery and let it be seen again.
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on the previous post .. and for the faves as well. I especially liked that you really were honest and expressed your feelings on the posting, some of you liked the narrowed version, most didn't. It was fun to play with though, and I want to try it again using a photo with buildings.
I'm still behind of course, an probably will be forever, LOL! but I'm trying to catch up!

Really nice and special. Hugs my friend ;O)
Render result is interesting, it gives same feeling of a memory : present/visible and fading/absent at the same time. Perhaps your doggy driven your hands when did it.....
Wonderful tribute, Rita!!!
Superb :)
beautiful dedi !
How strange, I was thinking of Gracie Anne this morning, honestly. It is a lovely tribute to her and Elfin12u has stated perfectly, so ditto. It does get easier, the ache dulls over time. Take care dear Rita.
Wonderful tribute and postwork..!!
beautifully done and I can identify with your loss of your friend...I have lost many and I still miss them but still smile with fond memories!
A gorgeous dedi to your beloved girl. Excellent work.
This is fantastic and what a beautiful memory you made.
Sad new :(
Has it really been a year? How times flies. This is simply beautiful work! A most lovely dedication to dear Gracie Ann. My thoughts are still with you my friend!
Lovely tribute to a lost friend. I still miss my dog who died last year as well, I think I always will...
Super post work Rita :) Lovely tribute too :)
losing a dog is like losing a sibling, a dearer loss is hard to find (because a dog is so unconditional & loving). It's a beautiful tribute, and I see a few people here remember similar losses in their lives. Your filtering is gentle and painter-like, it brings out the softness of memory and of the light, and your sky quietly pours into the shot as if from Above. Beautiful frame color too...Fine work once more, and I hope Gracie Anne lives in your hearts forever...(Did you know that "anne" comes from the Hebrew for "grace"? Your dog's name was doubly graced...)
Wonderful capture and postwork, Rita. I know how much Gracie-Anne meant to you. A beautiful 1 year memorial.
excellent dedication to your dog ! love your postwork ! very nice picture !
I am so sorry I was not here to share your day of remembrance for your beloved Gracie my dear Rita. I know how you still grieve for her so much, it is never easy when we lose our beloved pets, they just do not live long enough. Remembering herlike you do is keeping her memory fresh and alive and that is a good thing, and eventually the pain will subside and you will smile at the good times you both shared. She really was a beautiful dog and I love what you did with Gracie's photo and your cherished hollow, giving it an artistic feel, it is a fine tribute, and you did her proud, take care hugs Jane xxx

very nice....!
Oh, it makes me cry...so many lost loves in our pasts. It's a beautiful watercolor painting...brilliant rescue of a fuzzy photo. Gonna have to give that a try...I've got lots of material to work with! (If you haven't, check out tstray1's gallery and her 'montage' of Beanie, the hairy booger.)
Such a nice memory!
