Description
I never cared much for the original series of BattleStar Galactica. They had a great concept for the series, but never really seemed to take it seriously enough to truly run with it. Not, anyway, until the totally new series that aired on the "SyFy" channel. (God, I hate that new moniker for the sci-fi channel!!!) They took the premise seriously and I loved it from the first episode to the last. First class acting, writing, and casting--not to mention world class special effects. I must say, though, that I always like the original series version of the BattleStar itself better than I did the model in the later series.
I always thought it would be neat to be one of the pilots on BSG and so this render came into being. If you look closely at the name on the closest Viper MK2, it's me! Yeah, in my dreams!
Thanks for looking! And also for your comments.
Jeremy

Nice POV and I like the texture you put on the Galactica. I liked the new Battlestar design better than the old one, actually. Like everything about the new series better than the old one, come to think of it.
Excelent Sci-Fi...beautiful work!
I vaguely remember the series with Lorne Greene from my college days way back when. I liked it very much at the time. Great image!
I very much enjoyed the Premier episode but lost interest in it when they turned it into an outer space version of "Gunfight at the OK corral" right down to the gun duel in the dusty main street. "Ho Hum"... Anyway this is an excellent render that carries the flavor of the premier. Very nice modeling.
great POV Jeremy!! very good work!
I always like it to. Nice you get your dream. Really nice!
Very very cool indeed! Great POV!!!!! Love this one... Rob.
Good One Jeremy!! I've always wanted to fly a fighter jet but a spaceship would be even better..
I also really like the POV, very cool work.
Great rendering work! Xcellent ambiance lighting!
Great UVMapping...hope to get there some day. Keep it up.
Great POV and overall scene...nicely done my friend!
I have to agree with you on all counts. The new is better then the old. Hate the stupid renaming of the Sci-Fi channel. Ah, the dumbing of America has begun. Like your POV. Very much in the style on the new show. Can't wait for Caprica. let the story begin.
Glad to see that your personal capabilities have improved over the years. :-). Not to say that the old was deficient in any way but your eye and ablity towards detail is quite impressive. :-) You know my opinion of the new BSG. Ultimate Shark jumping. It would be nice if the writer/producr completely redid the last 15 min of the last show. Oh - SYFY must mean Silly Frivolity Take care D
I agree was sad to see it end. At least they got to finish, even though the finish was a let down to me the series was great.
Awesome idea & great composition. Excellent, dear Jeremy :) * Hugs Karin:)
Very cool render! :)
cool concept and pov!
Very clever Jeremy! Really nice minute detailing and customizing on the MKII Viper, with your own callsign and character name :) Thats half the fun of rendering, when you can put a little of yourself into the render, then it really makes it special. This render is alot like portraying a scene in an RPG you'd be participating in, since in RPGs, as players thats what we do - make characters to play as, but in essence, our characters are vivid extensions of ourselves. And in those characters, we get to act on and explore our own personalities in situations and settings that would never normally be possible. While I wasn't old enough to see BSG in its original airing, I did watch most of it later on, and I totally loved the re-make of BSG. Talk about a very serious series, as well as the continous episode format, it really gave the characters to gain depth. Even a great story can't last forever, and bring on Caprica! I've yet to do some BSG renders of my own, perhaps in time I will. Keep up the awesome work! I'd like to see see continuing adventures of your namesake character :)
I was skeptical with the new BSG,(Being a BSGO fan) especially when they changed sexes for the originals, but hey. I gave it a shot and was sucked in and mesmorized till the end. What an awesome remake. My jaw was dropped most of the time watching, cause the writers did such and incredible job. Nice render and tribute. I have the old ships, so now I have to find the new ones.
Beautiful composition! :)
Well ..the Vipers are truly ingenious spacefighters, even in the first series
Wonderful work here Love the POV and you know this is sort of a study in Black & White as well. Nice job here
Wow, fantastic scene, outstanding work!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed the original series, but could not get into the new one.
Me too, I liked better the old BSG model, and the old cylon raiders also kicked ass.I just made a paper model of the battlestar(old one). Hehehe, good idea to resalize your fliying dream! Godspeed!!!!
