Description

I decided to add this last image to my short series showing the various Great Blue Skimmers I have photographed this month. This is the largest species of Skimmers found in the US. My field guide says they are 2.2" long. Most of the others are about 2". This was taken with my Coolpix 7900. It is a full size crop of the original image. The little pocket camera almost captured the individual eye cells. It is an amazing little camera, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee
