Description
A volcano that erupted on June 12th has thrown up volcanic ash into the atmosphere that has almost encircled the northern hemisphere. This image was taken about 20 minutes or so after sunset, and shows the suns last rays underneath the ash cloud, giving us in a sence a second sunset.

interesting observation! the volcano was Sarychev Peak, i think.
This is a great shot. WOW I know I am working way too much lately. I had no idea a volcano erupted last month. I usually stay on top of things as such. Interesting isn't that close to Japan?
Great subject and awesome photo!
