Description
This is along the 10 mile stretch of highway 131 south of Randle as I was attempting to reach Mount St. Helens from the north. The road was closed and I had to turn around. But I enjoyed the drive, no traffic, lots of moss-covered trees, diffused sunlight, and a very light rain.
I was determined to make it to Mount St. Helens and came in from the west on highway 504. According to the Park Ranger at the Park Service building on Coldwater Ridge, they had just opened the main access road (highway 504) that leads to the Park Service buildings two days before the anniversary of 18 May.
I was informed that there is no snow removal service contracted for the northern access road (highway 131), hence the 'closed due to construction' sign ten miles in.

That is quite beautiful. Almost untouched and the moss and greenery looks stunning. A GREAT find! Lucky! Rob. Please excuse slightly shorter comments for a while. GOT to catch up! Rob.
