Description
The Banded Demoiselle is a European damselfly. It is often found along slow-flowing streams and rivers. I like them very much because of the unique colors: the blue is very different from other damselflies. Although I always look for damselflies, dragons ect, I never saw this species till two years ago. I saw just one nearby the river Mark. But since that moment, I saw them again and again.. sometimes in great numbers.
It is really hard to get a good picture of them. They almost never seem to rest and when they do it always is for a very short period of time.

wonderful macro ! love the color
A beautiful shot! I found scores of their wings on the footpath by the river, the swifts rip them off and just eat the bodies1
