In Articulo Mortis The movement of the stars above our heads gives false solace to our hearts: in time, every star must fall. The fate of all things is silence without memory or pain-- a dissolution into ruin. Our dreams must fade beyond the night; beauty will be forgotten along the vast expanse of dust. And who would live forever with deep sorrow, condemned to suffer every ache and wound? Fate is kind to offer silence over endless pain and fear. Oblivion is sweeter than ambrosia, which must taste sour after countless centuries: even gods must dream of nothingness and peace. Their lives are worthless things because they have no end; just infinities of words and deeds that no one will remember. Countless thoughts will be their own, for mortals will be shades, and with them, all the firmament.
