Description
This is a new capture for me. I have seen this species (Comet Darner) for several years but never managed to get a shot of one. I am still trying to get a male.
This species is one of the biggest in my area. This female is 3" long. Most of the species I see are less than 2" and many are about 1 1/2".
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

This is an amazing shot! And that's a really cool-looking bug. i hope you get the male too.
Great shot Lee! You sure nail the focus and DOF - what lens are you using for these shots?
The light green of her chest and the reflections and colours in her eyes are great.
She looks marvellous against that lovely blue. A super composition.
Amazing macro.
Super shot Lee! I had seen several varieties on my last walk and only got to photograph two common ones. Excellent
