Description
This is not the first Ladybug nymph I have photographed but it is the first for this species of Ladybug.
This odd critter hatched from an egg. It will molt several times and still look the same - just bigger.
The last time it molts, it will glue it's tail to a surface then rigidly extend its body away from that surface. The body then hardens. Over the next several days it will change into a Ladybug and free itself from it's discarded nymph shell.
This one will turn into a Spotted Ladybug (Pink Lady) it is a native American species. The more common Multicolored Asian Ladybug has a nymph very similar in shape but with different color patterns and "spike" arrangements.
The nymphs are voracious hunters and eat tons of aphids.

Nice macro ,I try to encourage these in the green house as they can save a lot of spraying.
