Description
I found these eggs on 5-07-09. The good folks at BugGuide informed me they were laid by a Polyphemus Moth. Each egg is about 2mm in diameter. I have been keeping an eye on them for the past 10 days and they hatched on 5-17-09. I will post an image of the new caterpillar tomorrow.

Incredible detail!
amazing macro!
Great find. I wait for the shots of the emerged caterpillars. I hope to get some eggs of my Puss Moth (Cerura vinula) - the 'laughing' caterpillar from the last year to get more of the sweet ones this year.
Very interesting!
fantastic and very interesting macros!
You seem to be getting to grips with that D40X Lee, these seem much sharper, I wonder if the size of the subject matter has anything to do with it?? Excellent capture, I look forward to seeing the caterpillars, I have posted one today I wouldn't mind you having a look see if you can identify it. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
Excellent find and capture.
