Description
These aren't the best pictures because this took place in my neighbors backyard and I was standing on my porch. I started to yell at the cat but he was so focused he didn't hear me or chose not too:-) The squirrel it seemed, was oblivious to the danger...All was not as it seemed! That naughty squirrel was actually teasing that cat!!! He would run as close as he dared and then stop and bathe himself. In the last photo it looks as if something is lying next to the cat, but its just a part of the tree root that he was laying on:-) Naughty squirrel got away...This is however the same cat who got my baby Buddy Squirrel last year.
Tomorrow is the day of our code enforcement inspection so my heavy work load will be done today, woo hoo!!!

A great sequence of events Lynn, I too had to check the grey patch was not the squirrel, phew is all I can say I was on a management away day last week and saw a red squirrel running along a fence, I was far more interested in what he was up to than what was being said!!! The thought did cross my mind as to "where is my camera" !!! Priorities are so important lol

I watched a feral cat run down, kill and carry off a full grown squirrel last year and it was unbelievable. But neighbor's cats...I'll never understand why cat owners can't control their animals. I have cats and my neighbors don't know I do. But I replace hundreds of dollars of plants and fish in my yard each year destroyed by cats and the owners just tell me they can't do anything about it because cats are wild animals. Posh! Obviously they are pets because someone is feeding them besides all the fish and birds they chew up in my yard. Oh... I do like these shots. Great series. :-)
I have a cat same color ( in my gallery) and she seems to do the same exact thing ...and always loses! Funny photos !

that squirrel will take too long someday and the cat will have it's way. my newest dog has killed a possum and a mouse in my yard. one morning she would not take her dog biscuit but it was still dark. later when I came home I found the possum. then I realized why she had an upset stomach
