Description
This is a commissioned artwork for a book cover.
The book "L'Anno 3000" (The Year 3000) by Paolo Mantegazza was published in 1897 and was the first science fiction novel ever published in Italy.
I've put the entire book cover, because I've made the artwork and the graphic layout too.
Al rendered in Poser 7, sky in Bryce and color correction in Photoshop.

Ah, the good old days of science fiction. Granted, L'Anno 3000 is older than most of the science fiction I've read - and to be honest, I don't recall ever having read it (has it been translated?). Modern science fiction has a lot to offer, but there's just something about the old stuff that's hard to describe.
