Description

This Centaur model was a gift from Antonio (Drakelot) which gave me an idea to use in a Vue scene. I had to batter Vue6 into submission, it really gave me a lot grief...about 8x I rendered it, for hours and hours, only to lock-up and crash my PC, again and again ! This is the best result I could achieve, I really don't understand what's wrong with this program ? Has anyone got some suggestions ? I only had 500,000 polygons, when I added a meta-cloud, that's when my problems started, but I really wanted the effect to complete the scene, it's not even a final render...but just a preview at a very large resolution, then shrunk in Photoshop. Cheers jif3d :o)

Excellent image Jeff... Vue doesn't always play nice... I don't think e-on does proper quality testing of their program which frustrates many of their users including you & me...

Very nice work. What version of Vue are you using? Depends on your computer too. Water + MetaCloud = Really high system usage, at least in my experience with V6I. Thanks for sticking with it! It's a great image.

Superb concept, great PoV, textures and lighting. Don't know anything about Vue but I know that feeling after hours of Rendering and it goes Poof from MJW. And I always figured Dual Processors and 4 Gig of Ram could handel anything Peace

Fabulous work on the centaur and I love the perspective and lighting Jeff. Unfortunately I don't have Vue at all, so I can't really give any advice on that one.

A very cinematic scene- I like the clouds partially covering the mountaintop in the upper left. The arrangement with statue kinda reminds me of scenes from "Jason and the Argonauts" and also "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy (I forget which one has those two statues guarding the water entrance)- love the point of view too. Very nice piece!

This is a super preview. I love how you have done that water it looks amazing. I know that frustrating feeling when the render doesn't go right but I can't solve your problems I'm afraid. I hope someone can.
