Description
A calla lily from the flower and garden show.
It was a fairly plain, uninteresting shade of yellow when I started. Once I played around with the colors and lighting, though, it made me think of flames!
Ain't postwork grand? :)

Simply gorgeous !! Wonderful work ! :)
This is an amazing and so beautiful capture!
Great macro ! Congratulations on your "Last week in the Gallery" feature.
I love marilyn's & andrea's comment—it needs an advisory! It's a beautiful capture, and your postwork is very subtle, because the picture feels wholly natural, not 'worked on'. The soft focus of the petals & the soft shadow of the stamen-area really makes the stamen feel like a power; O'Keeffe understood that power; and some analog photographers did too. Beautiful work, and the tonal modulations remind me a bit of your digital paintings...and yes, it does feel like flame...
