Description
Hi there.
Today another large bird - Victoria Crowned Pigeon (Goura victoria) - the most favoured bird of my daughter.
They reach approximately a length of 74cm and a weight of 2,5kg. Crowned Pigeons could be found in the swamp forests of New Guinea. Their meal consists fruits, figs, seeds and invertebrates.
Thanks for all the views and comments.

What a super hair-do! I'm glad they matched the bracelet to the feathers!

Wow, fantastic bird and capture!
This bird is so gorgeous it looks like a fantasy creation! Amazing!
Excellent capture and a magnificent bird! I've never seen one, so thank you for sharing this!
Pidgeons over here in the U.S. certainly don't look like this! Here they are considered "flying rats" and are a nuisance-- this guy almost looks related to a Peacock with its rather flamboyant head feathers. Cool capture!
Nice, but I would have preferred a close up of just head and chest ... the stance is rather clumsy ...
that ones a pretty thing. great capture. happy st pats day / steve
