Description
Please see full size view. : )
This wonderful hawk is likely female, judging from her size. The right wing is wrapped to heal and if that goes ok and she flies and hunts well, she will be released back into the wild.
She is new to the center and when I went into the enclosure she puffed up every feather. Her body grew once again as thick! That stare and open beak tells me I am not welcome and she is on guard.
Note the eye color then look back a couple of images in my gallery for the young hawk. Notice the difference in eye color from juvenile and adult.
I am so very fortunate to be able to see these raptors and sometimes be at their release.
