Description
"Guess where the second foot is!"
This, in my opinion, is a Eurasian Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus). If I ever tried to stand on one foot such a long time I will loose my balance instantly.
Hope you like him - please zoom in.
Have a great Mardi Gras.

Wonderful capture:)
It sure looks like an oystercatcher. Ours, along the coast, are the American oystercatcher but they are all black and I've not seen many. I see he was banded too. He's way ahead of me in the balance department! Nice shot!
You did very nice shot!
We used to have big flocks of these, and they have dwindled over the years. Great to see one so close.
Can birds look sad?? Excellent up close capture
amazing capture!
Quite a nice series of bird photography- the lighting looks like it worked well, was it a cloudy day? There are no harsh shadows and the lighting is very even- cloudy days, sunset and sunrise are the best times for outdoor captures. I am curious though- the results always show ISO 400-- typically that setting is done with auto mode and introduces a bit of noise (none apparent here, but perhaps the full size image shows some?) In an outdoor setting, you should be able to use ISO 100 and in manual mode adjust the shutter to compensate to get the perfect exposure. If your camera offers a histogram, you can look at the results and try to keep the levels in the center (no clipping to the right or left) to get perfect exposure in manual mode. If it is too far to the left, you can adjust your shutter to be slower to capture more light- if too far to the right you can adjust your shutter to be faster to lessen the light. Just a few tips from your pal! :)
This is a beautiful theaching from the animal to us, the power of conncertration and balance, yoga come from the observation of the beuty of animals!!! Excellent capture and lovely details too!!! :) V
