Description
I have lived in Wiltshire now for the best part of 37 years, and despite having lived in quite a few places both in the UK and abroad, and travelled a lot, it has been rare to find such golden sunsets, and with Stonehenge just down the road in half an hours drive. It occurs to me that it was not by accident early Stone age man built it to enjoy these sights.
Stonehenge was probably a sophisticated megalithic calculator dedicated to the paramount importance of heavenly events in the lives of these ancient Neolithic, stone age people. Above all to honour and worship the Sun.
The place this image was taken I have to be honest to describe as fairly mundane, and is at the back of the Butterfly house. The trees in the background have proven to be better hunting grounds, and were where I captured my image Painting with light.

You are lucky to be somewhere hilly where you can actually see the sun at sundown Dan, i cant see anything where iam due to the number of buldings obscuring everything. Nice shot mate !

I've never seen such a beautiful golden sunset. Our are usually pink and grey. This is very beautiful.
