Description
Maggies, as we call Magpies here in Australia, are medium sized birds, not too much smaller than Crows or Ravens.
They are quite intelligent and unfortunately can become aggressive during nesting season. (Just ask any unfortunate who has been swooped and gotten a nasty peck for being at the wrong place at the wrong time)
This one is a Female who was with her mate and offspring, pulling bugs from the back lawn.
The Maggie family didn't seem to mind me being near them in the least so I got some nice shots.
However, I've decided to share this one as it was different from the rest and to me looked as though it was exploding! XD

we have them also but I think mainly northern US.does look like she is blowing her cool.maybe her husband was looking at another bird.they are known to take things especially shiny objects.cool capture

Now that's a funny title, yes they are aggressive little guys, there a lot living close by me in the forest that may explode if they get to cute! but then again I love to watch them in flight when they chase intruders from their territory. My daughter used to wear her sunnys on the back of her head thinking that if she was keeping an eye on them they would not attack her hehe!
