Description

Animal antics p4 Hi dear friends; A mystery solved! Stonehenge is another of the worlds great mysteries to which I try to find my own answers for. After googling a bit and doing alot of reading on this subject, my conclusive findings were. Stonehenge was build by giants in the days of the dinosaur' It was constructed to be used as a trap den for large dinosaurs. The giants would lay bait to attract the smaller forest creatures, which will again attract bigger predators that feeds on them. ''Typical foodchain science'' The giants will spring the trap as soon as the largest dinosaurs have entered the den. All the creatures small enough will escape through the gaps, but the biggest ones will be trapped once the last stone is placed in position by the giants. This will guarantee an easy kill, and enough food for a few days. -------------------------------------------------- Here is some key frases and notes taken from wikipedia, which have given a helping hand in making this image. "Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument" "There is little or no direct evidence for the construction techniques used by the Stonehenge builders. Over the years, various authors have suggested that supernatural or anachronistic methods were used, usually asserting that the stones were impossible to move otherwise. However, conventional techniques using Neolithic technology have been demonstrably effective at moving and placing stones this size. Proposed functions for the site include usage as an astronomical observatory, or as a religious site. Other theories have advanced supernatural or symbolic explanations for the construction." "In 1966 and 1967, in advance of a new car park being built at the site, the area of land immediately northwest of the stones was excavated by Faith and Lance Vatcher. They discovered the Mesolithic postholes dating from between 7 and 8,000 BC, as well as a 10m length of a palisade ditch – a V cut ditch into which timber posts had been inserted that remained there until they rotted away. Subsequent aerial archaeology suggests that this ditch runs from the west to the north of Stonehenge, near the avenue." "He also identified the hole in which the ''Slaughter Stone'' once stood." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehenge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehenge#Function_and_construction -------------------------------------------------- Rendered in Bryce with postwork done with Corel photopaint. I love the camera in this one as it gives the feeling of a downhill stampede, and the startled yet curious way in which the Cryolophosaurus is looking at the camera as if it were to say "what the....!"lol Thank you for viewing and for any comments too. Have a great day my friends. Muis
