I came across a trio of fishermen the other morning while on my morning shoot. These guys had by the looks of it no luck all night. They were laying down huddled under blankets when I got there. Their fishing poles still standing there like silent sentinels as when they put them down last night. Such is the luck of the fisherman.
The morning sun was just coming up and at least I had caught what I came for.

fishing is sometimes as much about being in, on or around the water as it is about catching fish. i went halibut fishing with my brother in october, it was foggy (southern california, off the coast of huntington beach), we floated around for hours and it was sublime. i caught the only fish of the day, and he was as excited as i was. fishing is meditation, therapy, prayer, fun and a very good way to spend time. beautiful foto!!
