Shion tapped her commbadge. "Vass! Report!"
"A Cardassian fleet just came out of warp at the system's far edge, Captain," Lt. Cmdr. Bakar replied. "They are headed in this direction."
She gnashed her teeth to keep herself from cursing into the comm. "ETA?"
"Possibly in 15-20 minutes. Admiral Janeway's been notified and she's dispatching Nova Squad to our position."
"Prime weapon banks, but do nothing else, I repeat, DO NOTHING ELSE until we get there!"
It was two weeks into Shion Charzide's command of the Excalibur before this first trial of fire.
She wondered what took so long.
