There was once a wonderful man who had a beautiful garden. His great love was dahlias, and he had a wide variety of these gorgeous blooms growing in his yard. Every year he would dig up the tubers, label them, and carefully store them away for the winter. He cared for them, talked about them, and loved to show them off. He died a few years back, and his daughter wanted to try her hand at growing dahlias. It was a way to stay connected to her father, to continue the cycle, to honor his passion for gardening. She gathered tubers from his collection, and now every year she and her husband plant them in their garden ... and her father's legacy of beauty lives on. These are those very dahlias. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I do. They're so beautiful in person, in August, in the sunlight. The best way to view them is to stroll through the gardens with a glass of wine, visiting with the people who planted this lovely garden.
