Description
I don't do a lot of Sci Fi scenes, mainly because I don't do them very well, but after seeing some of the scenes posted here (particularly the ones by dandavis) I was inspired to try again. Hope it is up to snuff.
Oh and thanks for the inspiration Dan, Your work is fantastic............

How could I ever say anything bad after that great tribute. I'm just happy that some people like what I'm doing. You have made my day g! And it's pretty damn early where I live so it's going to be a good day. I find inspiration in the works of many fine artists who post here too. When you think about it, how many people in this world really know what we're doing here and how we do it. I love sharing my work and get a great sense of satisfaction from it. Ok, that said. the ships are great. I wish I would have thought to do the flames from the engines such as you have done them here. I took one look at them and said to myself "Hey, I should have done that." I'm assuming that they are cylinders with alpha channels? However you did them, they look great. Keep it up G, love your work too!
cylinders with alpha channels ... I should have had that idea too ... :-) great ship, super atmosphere (the sky is lovely - nice trick with the buildings, I should use this trick to, than I dont have to wait 3 days for the render :-)
Yes the flames are cylinders with alpha channels, an old trick from my bryce day's. Also if you add a glow to them they look even better, but it was late and I was tired. Anyway glad you guy's like it.
