Description
The Chinese love caged birds. The birds - thrushes, merboks, sharmas, and mata putehs are treasured for their singing ability. They are fed a carefully prepared diet and are kept in elaborate bird cages, each type of bird in its own design.
On Sunday morning bird fanciers get together for a bird song session. The bird cages are hung up on wires strung between trees or under verandahs. They are not mixed indiscriminately, sharmas sing with sharmas and so on. Having assembled the birds, the proud owners then congregate around tables, sip coffee and listen to their birds go through their paces.
The main bird-concert venue is on Sunday mornings at the junction of Tiong Bahru and Seng Poh Rds., Singapore.

This is one of the reasons I love Renderosity Sig, you learn new things every day, this is a new one for me and I find it most interesting. In England we have Pigeon Fanciers, clubs of them up and down the whole country. They race them and breed them and some of them are worth quite a lot of money. This is the first time I have come across a bird singers club, but I guess its much the same as the pigeon fanciers in that they may well be worth quite a bit of money. Thanks for sharing this excellent image, and the information is great also. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
