Description
What we have here is the World's Fastest Owl. I had forgotten that I promised someone an owl at this weekend's convention so I painted an owl in about three hours. He looks irresistably like the joke owl from Fark.com, so he's now the Oh Really owl to me, or perhaps the Oryly Owl, since I think that is how it's "ryly" spelled. Sloppy acrylic on a 8 by 10 piece of board.
See you all on Monday!

Excellent
Awesome work! I wish I could paint an owl in 3 hours but I never got one to stay still long enough let alone let me anywhere near it with my brush.
Oh!! Off to convention?? Cool! Say bye before you leave, and I must hear ALL about it when you get back. :D (Coolio Orlry Owlry, BTW...)
Oh I really love the Oh Really Owls eyes! Excellent work for such a short time. Have a blast at the convention!!
bravo xx
hehe... the absolutely perfect title because his expression seems to say the same. Splendid work!!
Haha, the fastest owl looks pretty good if you ask me. Seeing your acrylic painting makes me want to do some traditional stuff as well again ;-), we’ll see. I’m definitely inspired…
Lynn I think he looks so amazing for only 3 hours work
nothing sloppy here. beautiful work
I like your owl. He's really good. Nice work on the feathers and his eyes. Lovely painting style. Great job on this.
He looks sort of impatient. As though the 3 hours was still too long for him... and also, he's got that hypnotic mask-like quality again... don't worry though, I will eventually tear myself from his gaze and type this comment. Lynn, we've got to stop meeting like this!
Superb, especially the eyes! Wish you a successful convention!
excellent artwork
He looks wonderful..nicely done!!
Your owl is gorgeous excellent artwork....just love it.
Awww he looks WONDERFUL!! It's years ago that I painted 2 of them next to each other... love the eyes of these animals!! And those cute ears.. You did GREAT!!!

Awesome painting!!
Splendid piece of Art !!
Well whatever you want to call it, it is wonderful. Your talent abounds. I like him and don't think he is 'sloppy' at all. :o)
Awesome Image,Beautifully Done:)
Actually that is a really awesome image of a Great Horned Owl. A lot of owl depictions don't look much like the real thing, and as someone who works with the real animals, anatomical mistakes tend to jump out at me. I'd love to see a more detailed version someday!!!
This is amazing work! You did a great job!
It looks fantastic Lyn, your talent is amazing!!!! Excellent and outstanding artwork!! Hugs Ute

i'm incredibly impressed. i can't imagine working in acrylics, let alone painting a work like this in 3 hours. i hope the recipient is pleased, and that you had fun at your convention.
