Description
The beach where I walk doesn't have lots of shells, driftwood, or rocks. That's because the surf is often wild and huge and everything gets moved around, tossed, pushed and cleared daily. Every once in a while I'll spot something like this; an old log washed smooth by the sand and the sea. This one is actually quite long, but it's the texture and the color I liked so much.

That knot does look like a navel, a beautiful piece of wood Marylin, such a warm look to it, I would love to handle this, to smooth it even further and give it a coat or two of clear varnish. It could just stand in the corner of the hallway where I could run my hand across it on the way in or out. Did you get a full shot of it or just the closeup? I live to far from the coast to go beach combing but it is something I would do on a regular basis if I lived closer. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!5+++++

Yes, I agree on the color blends and textures. The log looks virtually amorphous contrasted against the sand. In any case, a fine capture.
