Description
BROKEN
Broken
Into a million pieces
My hands search the pile
For meaning
Something recognizable
Solid
I turn a piece
Pick it up
Put it down
My hands falter
Fall still
Defeated
There is nothing
In these shattered remnants
That is familiar
But still ...
My hands flutter
Over the pile of shards
Those fragments of my heart
Broken
Into a million pieces
The day we said goodbye

Yes, you say it so well.
Oh Tara... I feel the pain. An all too familiar feeling that none of us want to experience. Excellent...
Superb!
Boy, hasn't just about everyone been thru that pain and angst....beautiful and touching, dear T !
That second verse I thought you were talking about Ronnie and his crockery from yesterday. #:0) I guess there are quite a few fella's that can relate to this as well Tara, fortunately I am not one of them. I'm one of the lucky ones I guess. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!
Very sad, but beautiful little poem, Tara.
Aptly put my dear, my first thought was sympathy for my broken china lol, but seriously, a heartfelt prose!
wonderful writing ..
Wonderfult erland
Beautiful and touching words. You have such a gift for putting these thoughts from a place deep in your soul down on paper. I wish I had that gift.
so much beautiful!!!!
A fantastic work Tara!
Amazing poetry!
Tara, so articulate and beautifully expressed. What a sad, but most lovely poem. It speaks from the heart, and directly to the heart, and reaches deep down evoking such intense emotion--a most admirable gift that you have. The colours and the very font of the image seem to speak for themselves; and the poem. Most wonderful and powerful composition!
nice work...
Hi Tara May broken can mean body too the pieces never fitting right again what came to me mind when I read your words I really like this warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
Very well put....
WOW! There is truth, and then there is poetic truth...the second is always far more intense and visceral than the first. This is a gorgeous, and harrowingly true piece of writing. It moves with an elegant grace that I appreciate greatly, and the image that accompanies it works perfectly! Great stuff and I'm glad I'm catching up on viewing.
Oh dear ,look how far behind again I am Tara :o)..Gripping words that tell such a story .Excellent Mick
