Description
W.A.S.P., this is not a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant ;o)
I presume this a variety of the ICHNEUMONID Wasp's, which I found hanging from a branch of a She-oak pine tree, in my garden.
I thought this one was rather unique, what do you think ?
Cheers *BB*

Wonderful capture, Excellent well done..
i am glad i never saw one near my house i would move the house, the town the island the province the country the continent perhaps even the planet with the first shuttle out to the moon this is the scariest animal ever seen ha ha
Nice!
Hey I had one like that, thought is was a BIG mossi, now I know it's a wasp. Neat capture & I love it's coloring
Big, creepy and I'm glad I'm not a spider ! A very brave capture and neat DOF ! ~Cheers~
Looks like it only has a single pair of wings, so it can't be a wasp. Might be a cranefly or something, though.
So beautiful! I have no idea about insects except UK ones.
I don't know either, but it's pretty...in a picture! Not sure I'd want to be too close to one!
Wonderful colors and amazing macro.
A super macro and a very interesting shape. I've never seen one like this [and hope I never come close to one either] and he is obviously ready to give someone a nasty sting with colouring like that. Well spotted.
Beautiful color, and a superb macro capture. Well done!
great macro!!!! Very cool insect!
Great close-up and certainly a very impressive specimen!
that a special wasp...smile...fine shot!
Excellent shot, but I don't think this is a wasp, I guess it belongs to the mosquito family...
Really captivant, what a curious insect beauty : D Thank you for the shot.
Beautiful colours, and a superb macro capture !!! Very well done !!! Hugs:):):)
I wonder if this is some type of moth imitating the look of a wasp- it really does resemble the Ichneumonid you mentioned, but it does not have a tapered waist and the head is bent down and much smaller than a wasp that has mandibles for chewing. Certainly an interesting specimen to capture, and perhaps a rare an unique species- do you know anyone that would be able to positively identify it? Could be a new discover in fact! Wouldn't that be cool?! You could then name it!
