Description
Though it's been months, the smell of sweat and smoke lingers. The chill of Autum has come, but once—during the spring—Prague wrote her name across the night with fire. There was dancing; submerged passions bubbled from the depths of the Vltava and took possession of what flesh yielded itself.
There are those who burned witches on that night—straw effigies, devoutly placed into flames in accordance with the hard aspects of a young faith.
There are others who shamelessly embraced an older, quieter Mother. They danced, and having learned something from the immolation of moths drawn to candles, they learned the nature of fire and how to dance with it without a threat to their flesh. In looking back, sensing a thing I didn't have words for, I realize (quite profoundly) that on one of the many nights that Prague wrote her name in the night with flames, witches also danced!
As always, thank you for viewing and commenting, and hopefully, you enjoy this picture as much as I enjoyed the passionate night on which it was taken.

Oh Chip, really original and different! This colors are sublim my friend!
lindo!
I like this image, along with your text, they fit together nicely, I once saw some street performers on the banks of the Thames, they had flaming ropes and different and varied devices, which they coated in some kind of fuel, it was really a fantastic experience, my only regret was I did not have my camera with me, nice work Chip!
wonderful photo to go with the words.

well done and so intense makes the mind wonder.
GREAT shot In this dark mood !!! BRILLIANT !!!
Beautiful murky mysteries hide in the shadows, and random shapes dance into the light. A haunting image, very well done!
Awesome image to go with your words.
This appeals to me on many levels and I think you know why....fave ! *** H u g s ***
Your image captures passion and your words add secrets! I love how they go together, Chip, and I wish I'd been there that night to dance with witches.
I'm not sure which I could say affects me more, your words or your photo. In the end, I think the two together do even more than either would accomplish alone. That, I think, is your true artistry.
I saw a similar fire dancer not long ago in Toronto. She seemed enchanted by the fire and the fire seemed alive in some sense. Human skin seems to reflect fire light in a way that make fire and dancer seem one.
