Hello all!!!
Was just playing with this recent picture of my family taken at Santa Monica pier yesterday, and suddenly it occured to me I have NEVER put up a picture of my whole immediate family together on Rend ( cept for me lol uhm I had to take it )
... Anyways here's the family - Mike (48), Annemarie (17), Janel (14) and Chrissy who many of know on here - who just turned 11 . You cannot see Chrissy's 22 inches of long hair here cause it's pulled back in a ponytail( a must with her on a windy day) . Annie far left- is really a little taller than Janel ( the blonde) cause she is standing on a lower platform and leaning in .
Mike is giving me the "there she goes again and hurry up with the picture thing " glare " haha... They all just wanted to go over & ride the new solar powered ferris wheel ( the old one was torn down this summer so got the new and had to check it out ). Cept' for Janel who was quite terrified of going on that ferris wheel - nearly came undone riding it ( she is afraid of heights) so I was proud that she even got on it ...
I only did only this one shot that night standing here w/ m' family , they didn't want to be bothered ( haha i think i have burned them out with taking thier pics in the last few years!!! ) Thankful that it came out as it was growing darker at this point. I printed this pic out yesterday at Costco and it came out better than I thought!
Not a picture I would normally put in my gallery as an artistic work but just more of a personal one to share for fun with you today ...

Ha ha! I love the myriad of expressions. Hubby looks a little like Dennis Quaid, IMO. (That's a good thing.) Great shot, and whats wrong with the artistic value? It can be artsy fartsy if you say it is! The beautiful neon against the darkening clouds...The city scape beyond the water... Thanks for sharing.

This is a family portrait blessed with radiance. I don't know how else to say it. And it's not just your own radiance, but bringing out the radiance in your loved ones. The lighting of the four of them and the clarity & gentle 'symphony' of their hues is just radiant. You find the right place, the right balance, the inner shine...The line from Annemarie through Janel, and Janel's hair flowing into Chrissy produces a kind of heart-meld, how 3 different people come together in unspoken ways (esp. the way the 2 older sisters flow from one to the other), and then how Chrissy continues right through Mike, who stands like an oak. Also, the clarity of the pier supports (if that's what they are) & the ferris wheel add a sparkling background in my opinion, all backed by a sky that seems to have known what was in front of it, and gave you just the right amount of dark blue to set everything off. A portrait from one who truly adores the souls she's portraying, a beautiful shot & beautiful family...I mean, what more could one want...

Love their expressions, I see the same ones all the time when I say "Time for fotos"--everyone rolls their eyes and lines up!! I also remember the pier, though when I was a kid, it was Pacific Ocean Park (POP) and had a roller coaster at the very end. That first big drop made you feel like you'd go straight down into the water, but it sure was FUN!!
Well, it's about time. I'm glad you got it up before they disowned you lol. Oh, did I mention you have a beautiful family :)
