Description
"Listen to the rhythm of the distant drums
Antilopes are running when the lion comes
Mountains rising high above the raging sea
Life is never certain but the souls are free in Africa
Out of Africa come the sweetest peace and toughest fights
Oh, out of Africa comes the heartbeat of the world...
Out of Africa."

a dream!!!! Wonderful landscap and photo!!!!!
I can see a bit of water there Carin but you need some more, I have tried and tried to divert some of our excess but it just won't work for me. Hope you get what you need soon, no more and no less. Excellent capture, a wonderful vista, I wouldn't mind being right there, right now. Bravo!!!!!
exquisite work... it takes your breath away. one of your best works of art. very well done indeed........
Beautiful landscape, nicely capture.Well Done!

It's a beautiful Country, but so dry and desolate looking. But I know it is a country with heart and soul and you have captured it perfectly.

Fantastic landscape and wonderful photo.
A wonderfull tittle and a sublim view Carin!
What a view. Beautiful find and capture.
Awesome view Carin. There is some stunning scenic views there as i saw on my first visit.Wouldn't mind to be back there again.i wonder if they had rain there now.We had storms the last 3 days already. So maybe they had some rain there as well.May they also have more rain there so that everything can be green again.Excellent capture Carin.
Excellent capture Carin and a good choice of title:)
So dry like much of Australia, just waiting for the rain. This would make a nice pair with a shot from the same spot when it is green and full of animals.
Timeless capture! Well done
Excellent landscape.
Beautiful land and picture
Stellar mood and ambiance in this portrait of the veldt, Carin. "Out of Africa," the 1985 film starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.
Wonderful view. Really excellent work!
I am in love with this view! How very... you know...Africa. :-) Gorgeous long view with varying landscape. Astonishing site! Stellar photo.
Love your poem and the stunning capture to go with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a wonderful vista, and has so much to see...very well captured
I see this image and I think of three similar images: one of Olduvai Gorge, where the most ancient of "human" footprints are embedded in fossilized volcanic ash. The other two remembered images are from movies: The Gods Must Be Crazy a loopy masterpiece and an under-appreciated classic, and 2001: A Space Odyssey the high water mark of cinematic science fiction...never mind that South American tapirs were seen in the African sahel. This image reminds me of those others--minus the tapirs, and an alien monolith like one of God's own stereo speakers...and the comparison, I think is well deserved, since your image and its accompanying text evokes a timelessness that the entire African continent possesses. How fortunate you are to be there, to see what is so central a part of human existence...and how lucky I am to have caught a glimpse of it in this image.
An interesting capture of Africa. It is such a place of contrast both lushness and barren. Sadly some of the greatest sources of water are currently in danger there of being lost as changes are occuring at an increasing rate.
Ohhhhh ... how beautiful this is! The pastel colors are breathtaking. Gorgeous image!
What Chip said---and simply that this is such a great shot of your most amazing land!!
Reminds me somewhat of our Southwestern deserts...great shot...
Wonderful shot!!
wowww... Wonderful view, beautiful shot :)
