Description
Its been a long life
But I can tell its finally winter
Everything is getting cold
And lonely
Besides most of my friends
Are waiting for me
On the other side
I’m not ready to go yet
But fighting is for young men
And I am sure tired of this fight
There is a big difference between giving up
And being ok with it
It took a life time
And I am not ready for it
But I have reached a place
Where I am ok with it

Beautiful work vaggabondd
I can fully understand where you're coming from. It's better to be over the hill than under it, and I'm ok with that! Nice work!!
Wonderful word. So very well said.
agree with your toughts, great poem well illustrated.RS
What beautiful words...You know, it makes sense, my Mom was always so afraid of dying, as I am...but when she was laying on her death bed she voiced aloud, begging God to take her....so your words are so true Randy!
Wonderful shot!!

"Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light." Dylan Thomas
wonderful work, Randy warm hug with a smile, Linda
Wonderful work and so true a sentiment. A wise man (in a movie) once said that death smiles at us all, and the least a man can do is smile back. Funny what you pick up in movies. The one is question is Gladiator. Your poem here resonates with that line, that sentiment, and its good to see that death is not a thing that people are always so willing to struggle against. Death, after all, like any friend, will sometimes listen when you declare: Not Yet.
Wow, perfect shot!
Nice poem and beautiful picture
