Description
Door at rear side of St Edward Church in Stow on the Wold, in the Cotswolds, England: I imagine any person with a camera who found this door has photographed it. I found several shots on the net.
The church was built in this small and nice town between the 11th and 15th centuries, apparently built, built on, finished more, etc. over the years. The town was a wool trading center and today I am not certain.
(The loo was 20 pence in the public place. Some would hold the door for the next. There was also an alarm which sounded if the door was locked..I tried to lock it after a startled lady entered and discovered me there.)
The church was involved with a wedding when we visited so we left and walked around the old building, discovering this door as have others over the years. The wedding party appeared quite joyous and it was fun to see others in such a happy event.

Very impressive!
I near expect to see some gentleman in a tall pointed hat with stars and cresent moons covering it and his robe come out of this door. Stellar - whether photographed by many or few, your shot of it is outstanding.
I could'nt imagine how old are the trees which keep this wonderfull gate... A pict that let us travel in the past ... Excellent ...
The capture sparks the minds imagination on many levels. Invites into fantasy and the land of Fairy. Wonder of when the trees grew and how the this conjunction came about. What thoughts did this door inspire in the caretakers.
That is just beautiful. I want to touch it and the moss near it as I imagine there to be trolls or gnomes nearby!
