Description
These Daisies were planted by me in my flower bed. I am so happy they actually grew and bloomed! They are very special to me because Piet sent these seeds all the way from So. Africa so that I could see if they would bloom here. Only these were brave enough to give it a go.
They might have felt a bit out of place in Minnesota, such a NON-tropical climate I have! From the minute they popped up I have been coaxing them to stretch and spread and "get out more" much the way you might for a teen-aged foreign exchange student! It's tough being a foster mom/horticulturist!
Next year I hope to see the other colors and I will start them earlier indoors. Thanks Piet!

Those are the best looking African daisies! I love those petals. So different from the seed packets I pick up at the store! gorgeous shot!
so wonderful and nice of Piet to sent you these. i happy they pop up and grew too so I can now see the photo you took of them
Oh, Jodie, how special this is!!! you are so lucky... Mine didn't do well at all. Hopefully Piet will send me more :) What is your secret?? LOL They are gorgeous.. good job, and beautiful photo!
Beautiful Daisies...
Beautiful capture of these white flowers! It's hard to catch the white, unless it is an overcast sky.
Beautiful I love the way the petals are And the center of the daisy as well Excellent capture Hugs Susan~
Wow! That's totally cool! There's something extra special about seeds that were sent by a friend. I'm so glad you were able to get these to grow and bloom! :) Wonderful image.
Those are so beautiful, but they don't like the climate here so much. Too cold I guess, or too wet.Even if the ones I have had were boughts as plants from a nursery.
Wonderful work.
Very nice. Glad you were able to grow and enjoy and share them.
Fabulous~ I love African Daisies and these are just gorgeous. (I just had to pull mine up today~ usually they stay alive around here, but I think they were choked out and gave up the ghost).
Terrific ethereal macro of the daisies and their undulating petals, which remind me of those little wooden sticks we used when eating ice cream out of a cup way back when, Jodie!
LOL, you did well Jodie, I am amazed that they blossomed at all, taking into account your short summers. Now please don't return the favor and send me snow. :D Lovely sun filled capture.
Great pic, perfect DOF
Beautiful flower, excellent shot :)
Wonderful composition and focusing here... great image!
Beautiful!
you've captured the wonderful finger-like feel of the petals (I had a girlfriend years back who grew these, and I loved the undulating petals!)—they really look like little fingers. And the blackberry-like stamens are captured front and simple. You got the essential African daisy in a simple solo shot, with real dignity; and I like how you suspended it over a sea background greens. Beautiful, Jodie; and I love Piet's comment about not sending "snow". JK: Send snow!. What are friends for! Why should only Minnesotans have to suffer? (Boy are those daisies in for a shock!) Lovely composition too. I love this shot.
Wow Jodie - well done girl for getting them to bloom!!! I disagree with Piet though - please send us snow in return!!! :)
Very gorgeous capture!
beautiful!
Aw.... it's so wonderful that you've uploaded this. What a lovely thank you to Piet, and LOL at him saying not to send him any snow in return. Great job on the shot and for successfully 'fostering' the growth these little foreign beauties. Well done, Jodie! -M :^)
so lovely and glad they worked their way out...smile
they are beautiful love the shape of thier pedals!!!
