Description
She won a few times so I know her food must be good but no gumbo that day. I did not see it on the flyher I had. Anyway I did buy a cajun cake there and a brownie both was super good. I ate the cake before I took the photo[had carmal and pecans and coconut on the cake] and the browie I put in my back pocket and it was too soft to eat so I finded it in the truck this morning and ate it today. Both was super good.
But she won last years gumbo cook off there and trying again this year.
Like i say I could not go back on Sunday when they had the gumbo. My son had went to a diff fest in Lafayette and had some gumbo. he told it it the worse gumbo he ever ate. Even the one in Sulphur that we both had at one time. lol. Please follow the recipes on the Gumbopage.com if you going to make it. or get a Paul Prudem cook book lol he super good I got his cook books and I tried a lot of his stuff. he super good. Hope i spelled his name right; he a big chief that rides a motor wheel chair.
thanks for looking and comments.
Oh i bought the crayfish boudin[pronouns boo-dan]

CUTE CAPTURE :)
I think I would like walking round here Jocko, with all the food and smells, you really captured the atmosphere. When I was still able to work I was a Hospital Chef and we would have special theme days, I can remember making and serving Gumbo, something we wouldn't normally cook here but it was delicious. Does it originate from Jamaica?
I'd head for the crawfish too! In fact, hog heaven would be crawfish gumbo! LOL This lady looks like a lot of fun but then, people who cook gumbo tend to be fun anyway. I'll have to check out those recipes, although my mother-in-law was from LA and taught me some mighty fine cooking (she and my father-in-law ran a shrimp boat out of the Galveston area.)
Sure she is happy. Fun shot, glad you did have a good time too.
Must be those glasses, that makes a winner...I'd better geta pair ! ~Cheers~
Hi - I am always estonished about your nice shots - this one is funny too! Hug's Ute
A cheerful person is splendid! ! ! ! !
She swallowed the whole thing! I like gumbo and miss the file' powder.
Excellente capture!
Cool .To bad you did not get to eat some
One happy lady, there. And it looks like she feeds the Good Ol' Boys in the background pretty good.

Such a happy capture, Jock. Looking at it makes me feel good. Hugs. Di. xx
A very cheerful sort of lady!
Funny and creative photo my friend....!!! Wonderful shot.....!!!!
Looks like a fun party. A day without gumbo at a gumbo cookoff is just wrong. They should fix that. Not everybody can come back on Sunday.
I have never had Gumbo but I sure would try some if I was there, I like hot and spicy anything, I will have to check out this gumbo page you posted yesterday Jocko, I don't even know whats in it. Looking at this lady and her necklace I am guessing it is shrimp or prawn base to it, and I love both. Excellent capture, she sure looks a happy one, and who knows she may have won first again this year, seeing as you couldn't make the Sunday, I guess you don't know if she did or not. Superb work, sorry you didn't get any gumbo whilst you were there. Bravo!!!!!
LOL! Funny shot!!!!!

Ummm. Jocko, you are making everyone hungry with all this good food talk. Of course winter is comming, so we should all stock away a bit, and it sounds like there are many good festivals near you where people kind find some really good eats! Very nice photo, them are some big trophies!!!
