8.8 cm FlaK 41 (I think) at the Collings Foundation in Stow, MA; a great place to visit if you're a WWII gear freak!

Great looking pic, really love WWII stuff
Excellent, clean shot of this weapon. Love the flat light - it helps us to explore the details. We have such re-enactments here where I live on a fairly regular basis in the Summer. Sometimes we get people wandering down from them to our village and sitting outside our teashop dressed in 40's gear.

This is a cool shot! A wonderful multiple portrait. I'm not too much of a history buff, but that doesn't detract from my appreciation of this image, or the actual scale of the cannon shown! Great work. I love the human element included in this as well--which is how I see it as a double portrait. Whether intentional or not, it drives the point of this cannon home, while also endowing it with the sense of respect that it deserves. Cannons, for all of their dark purpose, are human artifacts, and it's quite a powerful thing to include a human (yourself?) in this image! Stunning, great work with an interesting perspective.

Very dangerous weapon, especially when mounted onto a Tiger.
Wow! What a great pic, Paul. That 88 is fine shape. I have only seen the rusting ones on display at Aberdeen Proving Ground. My Dad said that this was a very nasty weapon in the flak, artillery, or antitank role, and the victory stripes on this one fall into the "no kidding" category. Dad really didn't like being on the receiving end of 88 fire in Normandy.
